Location
Northeastern California in beautiful Shasta County between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta, approximately a 1 hour drive east of Redding. A 6 hour drive from San Francisco, or a 3 hour drive from Reno. Redding has an airport with connecting flights. There is also a small airport accommodating small aircraft in Fall River Mills, which is a 30 minute drive from the ranch. (Click for Mapquest Map)

Type of Water
1/2 mile of Hat Creek, plus two private water lakes measuring approximately 2 and 4 acres.

Fish
Lots of wild rainbows and browns in the creek and an abundance of large stocked rainbows in the lakes.

Season
State regulation trout season late April through mid-November in the lakes and Hat Creek.

Off-Season
W*I*N*T*E*R fly-fishing? Absolutely! Enjoy this beautiful time of year for a reduced rate, in the lakes only.

Skill Level
Donner Hat Creek Ranch has something for everyone. The advanced fisherman will find plenty of challenge, fishing for huge fish on a light tackle. The beginner will enjoy the easy access, unimpeded back casts and abundance of fish. The property is perfect for anyone not up to the challenge of less civilized properties.

Guiding
Guides are not offered at the ranch, however referrals are available.

We are a day use ranch only. There is a large selection of local cabins, motels, hotels, guest ranches, camping and RV parks close by. (more info)
